tea time.

A sommelier, but forget wine, we’re talking tea.

After studying tourism, Elise Perrault ventured off to England at a young age and found a job picking strawberries. It was during her time in Britain that she learned English and discovered tea time. There was something special about the ritual of it all, steeping, tasting, sharing with others. It was so different from grabbing a coffee on the run. Tea encouraged her to slow down and spend quality time with her fellow sippers.

After a few years of working in Mexico and the Caribbean in tourism, Elise returned to Mont Tremblant in 2004, where she worked as a concierge at a hotel. At that time, she met her now husband, and within the next few years got married and had children. During this time, the seed that had once been planted in her back in England had begun to sprout so she wound up taking an online course to become a tea sommelier. After her second baby, she decided not to go back to what she once knew as work, and started selling a small selection of teas at farmer’s markets. Soon after, she got her first contract with a restaurant to help create food pairings with her blends. She went on to create private collections for spas and private events.

In 2018, Lady T had its very own shop, in the town of Mont Tremblant. Mostly influenced by the British tea style, she carries an assortment of herbals, greens, wulongs, white and black teas, as well as specialty products like matcha and yerba mate. Offering tea boxes at home with cheese or chocolate pairings, to take to your weekend escape in the woods.

Her mission? To encourage others to drink more tea and discover the world it has to offer. Elise named each tea after a song, because they are attached to a special moment. When you hear the song, you feel the tea and vice versa. “You need tea in your life!” She exclaimed.
