Originally a city girl from Montreal but a lover of nature, Roxane has been working in the fashion industry for over 15 years. But it was 6 years ago that she decided to open La Raffinerie, her very own shop in Tremblant, finally allowing her two worlds to collide.
Fashion was practically in this store owner’s DNA; as a little girl, she sketched designs of clothing and her grandmother would sew the clothes she designed. “She was a real magician”, Roxane told us. Her grandmother showed her what made garments high in quality and taught her the distinction between different types of fabrics.
Originally at the mountain’s village, Roxane opened La Raffinerie in 2016. She realized there was a need for ethical, style-driven clothing in the area. Her store features mostly local, sustainable brands, many of which are friends of hers as well as brands she repped while working in the industry. In 2021, having built a loyal customer base, she decided to change locations to a less tourist-driven area, Old Tremblant Village, into a space that had once been a furniture store. The space itself, a gem, gives the clothing the stage they deserve.
Now a mom to a 14-month old, Roxane brings the joy in the shopping experience back to life. The simple gesture of greeting clients by name which has been lost in the digital shopping age is one of the many reasons why more than half of her clientele are repeat customers. La Raffinerie is now offering special experiences with an a la carte menu of options on their website. From personal drivers to champagne, there’s no shortage of ideas to create a unique private or group shopping experience for any occasion.
